There's nothing worse than being surrounded by people you love, but still feeling completely alone......

Updated: May 12

So what do you do? What can you do? Why do you feel like this?

Have you tried to talk to someone and they miss the entire point of what you were trying to say, or got distracted, and you felt it was pointless/even hurt to try to continue? I've been there, and I'm sure many people have. So you keep a routine of things to talk about with certain people....but you've yet to have someone that you can truly have a conversation with....

Someone to share the topics that have been buried in your heart.

All you really want, crave, is heartfelt, genuine understanding. To feel as if you're not alone in a sea of people moving from one place to the next. It's more than difficult, it's a slow death, the life of a zombie. You try to focus and be present, but it's as if something has long taken over you, and the fight to get back to that place of innocence and ignorance is no longer accessible. The ship has sailed, and the island you're stranded on has no signs of life. What do you do?

I know A LOT of people who have given up. more than I care to think about. They fall into their vices, they're hurt, so they decide to hurt others. They allow the pain they feel to transfer to others in a never-ending cycle...their selfishness and ego give them the right to do whatever they want because life did a number on them, and someone has to pay. There are too many excuses, and I empathize with all who have suffered. Again, the question is what do you do...............

It's going to sound cheesy and preachy, but listen, you don't give in. You don't allow the darkness to settle. You don't give up. You remain resilient. The thing is, it's hard because there is no one like you. Not many will understand you, people tend to follow things, others, trends, and don't remain entirely true to themselves. The opposite of conformity is rebellion. People see rebellion as a bad thing, an outcast. Something that is not a part of society. But conformity is worse, its definition is - in compliance with standards, rules, or laws. I could be missing something, but this sounds like putting your individuality and uniqueness in a box. The fact that it's hard to find others to understand or relate to you is a good thing. It may not feel like it, but it's liberation for your soul.

People are not meant to be alone, that much is true, so I understand it's hard to remain resilient when you have no one in your corner.... but it takes time for you to be able to find the people that will understand and get the REAL you. The fact that it's going to take a while just proves how unique and rare you are.

It means that you have to go on a quest to find the people who resonate with who you truly are. It's a mistake to remain in an area with people who make you feel like you're living in zombie mode. Even if it's people that you really love. You deserve to be surrounded by people who understand you. Who really listens to what you're trying to say, and with people who have the patience to allow you to speak what's really on your heart.

It's not easy, but it's much harder to remain in a space that you know is never going to change. So, what do you choose? The underlying question of this is, are you unhappy with the people around you, or are you upset and taking it out on yourself by remaining in a space that's not meant for you? Don't limit yourself because of your surroundings. Take the jump, GET OFF THE ISLAND!!!!!
